This class is 60 minutes long and is mild to moderate in intensity. No previous ballet experience required.
Description:
Tendu your best foot forward and join Andrea for an hour of ballet! We’re all about having fun and dancing to non-traditional songs. Join us for all of the grace and none of the body shaming typical for this style of dance! This class is good for all body types, and adaptations are offered for injuries or those with limited mobility.
How this class works:
Over the course of two months, we learn progressive technique and ballet terminology. Half of the class is spent at the barre, and the second half of class covers the move of the week and a mini combo. This series builds from week to week, though you can begin at any time in the session.
On the third month, we learn a choreography and review it on the final week. This class will learn a different chunk of choreography each week, so please free to drop in to this class at any time.
To find the next restart dates, check the “upcoming restart dates” portion of the homepage, or send us a message. You are also welcome to start at any point in the session!
The instructor for this class, Andy, is incredibly experienced with over 20 years of ballet in her background, and she’ll set you at ease with her friendly and funny demeanor. She will make you feel comfortable and confident at whatever level of dance you’re at right now, and is happy to offer more in-depth explanations for any and all moves you will see in this class! No experience is necessary, so please feel free to start even if you’ve never had ballet before.
Dance Life prides itself on being a safe space for all bodies to find joyful movement, especially those who have felt left out of a traditional dance class.
