Description:

Relate positively to your body, find ease being in your skin and have fun while getting high-quality exercise! In this class, we ramp up the technique and pace of the Monday Fundamentals class so we can explore even more beautiful and fun dance styles. We learn a routine or a concept over the course of 3-4 weeks, and then review it all at the end. This class is meant to be taken after the Belly Dance Fundamentals course, as we talk about more challenging movements, patterns, and ideas about how movements are executed.

Led by an enthusiastic and funny mother-daughter teaching team,this class delves into an array of different Middle Eastern dance forms including beledi, shaabi, Turkish Oryantal, modern Egyptian, fusion, and so much more. Dig deeper into the cultural legacy of this beautiful art form while keeping your body moving, and learn a new dance over the course of about a month! You can expect to see a quick warm up, movement and technique explanation, a full breakdown of the steps of the routine, and then lots of practice of the dance or concept over the course of 45 minutes.

This class is interactive and gives you the opportunity to ask questions, make comments or jokes, and get teacher feedback and technique input, just like an in-person dance class even when you aren't in the room with us. Or, you can leave your camera off and focus on enjoying a front row spot in class without the distraction of potentially comparing yourself to other students. For those in the Madison area, come and join us in person and get a big dose of joy and fun!

You can start class at any time, as we learn a new section of the dance each week. If you prefer to start at the beginning of a routine, please don't hesitate to reach out to us and we're happy to guide you on the best time to begin.
